Cafe Club promotes fellowship through dinning

The Cafe Club is a new club that focuses on the dinning experience at High Point University’s Cafe. The main purpose of the club is to always have a group of people to eat with in the Cafe. The club wants to ensure that students have a constant group of people to eat with so no one has to eat alone. The club was founded by Michael Dutcher, Robert Griffith and Chris Benson.
“We found people who enjoyed the Cafe and even brought in some doubtful new members who ended up being daily diners,” Benson said.
You can find about five to six people eating together each meal at the Cafe from this club. The individuals always vary by day and time due to various schedules.
The Cafe Club started very small and Benson says many people were very hesitant to join in the beginning.
“Once people started coming out and eating with us, they quickly developed a soft spot for the Cafe,” Benson said. “The hardest part was finding people who really wanted to go and eat at the Cafe with us.”
The club emphasizes getting to know new people and sharing a meal with friends. Benson explains his favorite part of the club is eating with his new friends.
“Food is a good fellowship,” Benson said. “I enjoy that everyone comes together and hangs out, and the Cafe is just the location of choice.”
