Greek Week started on Sept. 13 and ran through Sept. 17. The week started off with a banner reveal in the Slane Student Center. At the reveal, each team announced their theme to the entire Greek community. Kappa Delta and Sigma Nu’s theme was “camp;” Phi Mu and Pi Kappa Alpha’s theme was “spring break;” Alpha Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Phi’s theme was “the 90’s;” Alpha Gamma Delta and Beta Theta Pi’s theme was “Disney;” Sigma Sigma Sigma and Kappa Alpha Order’s theme was “Greek illustrates;” and Zeta Tau Alpha and Kappa Sigma’s theme was “out of this world.” Zeta Tau Alpha and Kappa Sigma won first place for their banner.

Jake Byczkowski was the keynote speaker who opened the week with a comedic speech about drinking and how to be safe with alcohol consumption.

Later in the week there was a chili cook off where Sigma Sigma Sigma and Kappa Alpha took first place, not only as the judges favorite but as fan favorite, too. Every ticket purchased at the event was placed in a basket of the buyers favorite chili. Tri Sigma and Kappa Alpha collected over 1400 tickets, and therefore raised over $1,400 to donate to the charity of their choice.

Greek Olympics took place on Thursday, where there was a foul shot basketball competition, a volleyball tournament and a tug of war competition.

The last and final event of the week was the Lip Sync competition. Each group choreographed and practiced a dance for weeks that went along with their theme. Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Mu won first place for their spring break themed dance. The overall winners of Greek Week were Alpha Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Phi.
