High Point University has just announced the much-anticipated Spring Concert headline performer. Every semester rumors fly about who will perform, and every semester people predict a country singer. Well, for the first time ever, those predictions will be right. Lee Brice, a chart-topping country singer, will take the Roberts Lawn stage on April 10. Starting off as a songwriter for legendary names such as Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw, Brice has been making a name for himself in the world of country music since 2007. He is most well known for his songs “Love Like Crazy” and “A Woman Like You,” which both debuted at the top of the Billboard charts. He has also been nominated for a number of country music awards every year since 2011, including New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.

The concert will kick off with two opening acts, Chase Bryant and The Cadillac Three, making the concert a trio of big name country stars. It’s safe to say that for the first country music performance at HPU, the school did it right and one can only expect a lawn full of cowboy boots come April.
