High Point University graduate, now Premier Lacrosse League star, Tim Trouter won his inaugural Rookie of the Year award.
Redwoods LC selected Troutner as the 20th pick in the first PLL college draft in late April. He certainly made his presence known in his rookie campaign.
He is the all-time wins leader at High Point University. Now that he is in the pro leagues he has still put up some impressive stats this season. He had 116 saves with 11.4 scores against average. In the playoffs, he had a 57.1% save percentage.
Sadly, the Redwoods’ season ended late in the postseason. They lost to the Whipsnakes 12-11 in the Championship that was broadcasted on NBC.
Despite the tough ending, the Redwoods have a bright future as a team heading into the 2020. They have a great backbone at goalie. Expect Troutner to put up similar stats next season.
