Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be an expensive holiday

It’s that time of year again when you have to plan a super romantic night for that super special someone on February 14. Yes, that’s right…it’s Valentine’s Day! There are so many options one can choose to do for this special day like chocolates, flowers, an expensive, overpriced dinner or anything under that category of “expensive” just to impress that special someone. However, if you can’t afford to spend $100 on one meal, I have plenty of cheaper options listed below that still give you a super amazing date and keeps your wallet happy.
1
Cookout (off campus): Why not take your loved one on the greatest greasy food adventure known to High Point? This fast food place is famous for it’s milkshakes, hush puppies and the infamous cookout tray of delicious food. It’s also super cheap — so if you’re looking for a low-key night, why not give Cook-
out a try?
2
Get Air (off campus): If both of you are adventurous, why not go to a place that fits that? This trampoline park is full of surprises and is a great way to spend your afternoon/evening before dinner. You can jump your way into Valentines day!
3
Extraordinary Theatre (on campus): They offer free popcorn — I repeat, free popcorn. Who doesn’t love free popcorn and candy along with some of the best movies from the year? Did I mention it’s free? Yes, believe it or not people go on dates to the free theatre on campus.
4
Shinko (off campus): If you’re looking for a little more expensive meal that still falls under our meal plan, check out this amazing Japanese cuisine. You can easily pay for your meal there through the general account on your passport. Nothing beats their yum yum sauce and hibachi chicken.
5
1924 Prime (on campus): Can you imagine having your bf/gf/significant other sitting up until midnight to get that reservation on that date — how romantic! The best part about it? It’s part of our meal plan as well.
6
Sechrest Art Gallery (on campus): If you are both really into art and appreciate museums, check out the Sechrest Art Gallery. There are so many amazing exhibits that happen there throughout the year. The “Visions 2017: Food for Thought” is the most recent.
7
C-store (on campus): If you are struggling to find that cute teddy bear or hippo with a heart that your girlfriend wanted, look no further! The HPU C-store has all of these choices for you. If you are looking to spend a little money on general or dining, this is your place to be!
