I can’t believe I ate the whole thing: High Point edition

High Point University offers students many delicious options through various dinning locations. The city of High Point has just as many good dinning options as HPU. There are many options from diner food to delicious Greek options. I am in love with many different places around High Point that have extremely healthy options. These are my top five recommendations you have to try by the time you graduate.

1. Blue Water Grille: This delicious restaurant offers meals for a romantic dinner or social gathering. The restaurant is named after the open ocean. The cuisine features various fish and fresh meats followed by vegetables and fruits. It is all French and Asian techniques with an American interpretation to make it delicious and mouth watering. If you are looking for a romantic date night or a birthday dinner, this would be one of your best options.

2. Blue Zucchini & Company: Blue Zucchini was voted Best Place for Lunch in the Southern Triad in 2015. It offers delicious and healthy options. The burgers are delicious and even offer healthier options. My personal favorite is the Hipster with a portabella mushroom instead of a burger. Their fried zucchini is also one of my personal favorites. One can’t go wrong with finding healthy options as well as delicious entrees. If you are looking for a delicious lunch, definitely check out this place.

3. Blue Rock Pizza and Tap: This little gem is situated in the “Uptown” district in High Point. The restaurant offers delicious gourmet pizza that many people at HPU are obsessed over. There are more than 30 toppings, 10 cheeses and five base sauces to choose from, or you can try their specialty pizzas. They also offer gluten free options for those with diet restrictions. If you are in the mood for a fun night out with your friends, definitely check out the pizza from here.

4. Carolina’s Diner: The most difficult place to get a table at on a Sunday morning. It makes sense with how good the food is, how inexpensive it is and the classic atmosphere within it. There’s breakfast all day with options such as pancakes, omelets and all of the classic lunch/dinner options. They are known for their omelets among the HPU student community. I personally get the biscuits and gravy every time I go and they are delicious. Next time you want to go to a fun Sunday morning brunch, check out this place.

5. Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery: An all-American themed restaurant with a fun bar setting and housemade beers for those who are 21-years and older are offered here. The lunch and dinner options are absolutely fantastic with kids’ options as well. Sometimes they even have $7 lunch specials. The restaurant even offers weekend game-day menus as well. My personal favorite is either the iceberg wedge salad (it is the perfect size and absolutely delicious) or the smokehouse burger. If you are looking for good Southern food, try this restaurant.
