How to make your day better 101

By Ann Shelley// Opinion Editor

We all have rough days – what matters is how we handle them and bounce back. However, there are simple things that you can do throughout the day that will already make your day a little better than it may have been.

1. Pump up the jam! When you’re getting ready in the morning, play some of your favorite tunes. It’s amazing how one song can change your whole entire mood for the day. Sing along and rock your moves!

2. Dress to impress – but only yourself, not for a boy or anyone else. Dress up everyday how YOU want and show off your style. If you dress how you want, it gives you a boost of confidence because you feel comfortable in what you’re wearing.

3. H2O is a go! If you constantly carry a water bottle around throughout the day you are doing life right. Water actually gives us energy and is so helpful for your skin, digestion, circulation and so many other vital body functions. This can boost your happiness in the process if you have clear skin and a happy tummy.

4. You can do it! In order to really believe in yourself you sometimes have to remind yourself. A helpful idea is to just tell yourself sometimes, “You got this!” Another fun idea is to write on little post-its inspirational quotes to put on your mirror that you can look at.

5. Everyone clean up! If you make sure your room is organized and neat – you are guaranteed to feel better and more organized in your daily routine. Also it really makes it easier to complete assignments and know what you have to do throughout the day.

6. You gotta do that to-do! Make a to-do list each morning or night before of all the things you have to accomplish throughout the day. I guarantee you will feel better crossing each one off and feel like you have achieved something important.

7. Starbs is the new Barbs! Drinking a hot cup of coffee or your other favorite drink to start your morning can give you a little boost of energy. This can help you focus better in class and/or help you ace that one test that you’ve been studying like crazy for.
